diving gear

You can dive to depths not usually considered safe for deep divers. It could be because there are certain limits that have been set by local authorities. You may also have the chance to visit some of the most stunning underwater environments in the world, like the Galapagos and Elphinstone Reefs. Continue reading to learn more about the conditions and locations that make deep diving such a special experience.

Elphinstone Reef

For the best underwater experience, dive at Elphinstone Reef on a liveaboard. It is possible to dive at this location backwards. Therefore, you will need to be confident in your forward roll. When there are less people, you will have greater chances to see sharks and marine life. Also, tropical fish are more common. You'll also be able to see the resident hawksbill Turtle.

Blue Hole in Belize

The Great Blue Hole is an enormous marine sinkhole that lies off the coast Belize. This stunning diving site can be found near Lighthouse Reef. The Great Blue Hole is 124m deep and 318m across. It covers 70,650 sq. metres. Here, deep divers have the opportunity to see some of nature's most beautiful underwater scenes. Galapagos

A deep dive in the Galapagos Islands is an exciting and rewarding experience. Galapagos Islands are home to incredible marine life. Because of this, the water is very cold and has limited visibility. The best time to dive in the Galapagos Islands is during the cool season (June through November) when temperatures are cooler and currents are stronger. If you're not sure whether you're ready for the challenge, take a look at this helpful guide for scuba diving in the Galapagos.

Elphinstone

You will love the Elphinstone Reef's vibrant coral reefs and beautiful underwater life. This 300-metre-long reef is between twenty to forty metres deep. It is home to large gogonians as well sponges and sea whips. Redtooth triggerfish and giant Trevally can be found on the finger-shaped plateau. It is possible to see a Hammerhead shark, which can be very rare and difficult to spot. The dive site is known for its clear waters and strong drift.

Belize Blue Hole

The Great Blue Hole is a place you should visit if you ever wanted to dive deep into the Caribbean Sea. Located about 62 miles from the mainland of Belize, the Blue Hole is a near-perfectly round hole. It is located at the Lighthouse Reef, about 125 m deep. Scuba divers and snorkelers have enjoyed the beauty of its surface waters for many decades. However, very few have braved its depths.

Elphinstone and a buddy group

Elphinstone, also called Elfinstone, can be used as a boat dive in Southern Egypt. This saltwater dive site is located near Marsa Alam. It can reach a maximum depth up to 150 feet (46m). The visibility is anywhere from 61 to 70ft (19 to 21 metres).
