How to Become Master Diver in The United States Navy

A master diver with the United States Navy can be the highest level possible in the diving world. The enlisted person has the most experience, knowledge and training in all areas of diving and underwater salvaging. At least 15 years' experience is required to become a master diver. You also need to have taken a specialization class. By taking a specialization class, master diver status can be earned in the United States Navy.

PADI Master Scuba Diver

PADI Master Scuba Diver certification signifies that you have mastered scuba diving. The program can be offered by several North American training agencies like the National Association of Underwater Instructors or the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. It is considered the highest level of diver certification available. You must be able to dive at least 30 feet underwater during the course.

NAUI Master Scuba Diver

If you want to learn more about scuba diving and are looking to advance your skills, the NAUI Master Scuba Diver program might be the right course for you. The course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to organize diving trips for other divers. You will be able use a compass, recognize pre-panic signs, and perform underwater communications. Learn how to lead a diver in a new place. This course consists of both two open water and a classroom session.


NAUI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

It is a great way for you to increase your diving experience by taking the NAUI EnrichedAir (NITX). Master Diver course. This course will teach you how to mix Nitrox with oxygen, and many other aspects of enriched water diving. The course will teach students how to analyze the mixture and what the physiology is of nitrogen and oxygen, as well as the dangers of handling these gases. They'll also learn about Equivalent Water Depth and common gases mixing techniques. The enriched air course can be taken as an extension of an open water diver's Scuba Diver certification course, as it is a prerequisite to use the enriched air mix.

This certification is a prerequisite in the NAUI FIT program, which will prepare you to be a professional NAUI Instructor/Leader. You can start by enrolling in the Try Scuba Program. This program is designed to give you the knowledge and skills necessary to safely dive into open water.

NAUI First Aid Course

Master divers can take a NAUI First Aid course to prepare them to handle a wide range of emergency situations that may arise in the water. Refresher sessions are included, as well as information on the latest First Aid standards. NAUI First Aid training will provide you with all the information necessary to be able to react quickly to any emergency. You will also be able to use the skills that were taught in class.
